I've been expecting you...

Some great work on the new 007 Seamaster. Sometimes I think they need to go 'all out' and make the limited editions stand out. But then, the Bond theme does lend itself to subtle changes that only those in the know will notice.

I like the novelty case with the bullet, but that's not a deal maker for me, the ceramic bezel is clean and neat, the dial is subtle enough to miss, but clear enough to notice on a lingering look, and the 41mm case is a good size to wear casual and not look to over the top with a suit.

I still think I'm a Speedmaster guy at heart, but the 007 Seamaster is a beautiful watch.

Well played Omega... well played.

Corporate Twats... Sorry 'Tweets...

Why is it, all of the companies trying to be cool (my company included) like to outbound tweets, info, links, pictures etc. I get that they are looking to gain follows and build their brand using the perfect #ReachTheMasses platform.
But why, if you tweet them a problem or a complaint, (usually after thier customer service dept has failed to resolve it) do they play ball until they can't win... Then publically ignore you?
Surely on a platform like @twitter these guys should be grasping the opportunity to show why they are different? I think some companies go about it all wrong. Yet others are not only informative but also light hearted when they get the chance. (Dominoes pizza, I doth my cap, TacoBell and OldSpice, well played) these are the compaines I want to follow!

iPad, Galaxy Note or Pen & Paper

iPad, Galaxy Note or Pen and Paper?
I see a lot of video’s and links on social networks sites about what ‘this person’ or ‘that artist’ thinks of the new Galaxy tablet or how it compares to the iPad. I’d be keen to find out how different they are from A: someone who isn’t an artist/Technology expert. And B: isn’t being paid to tell me how great it is.

I’d definitely be interested in buying one, but hate pushy sales people, and don’t think I can genuinely trust the majority of reviews that are advertised. Don’t get me wrong there are some great sites that do fair and honest reviews, but not enough that I can get a ‘average’ view without half the info being from a paid third party.
Currently sticking with Papyrus and an HB!
Rant over!

Danny Kelly: Rules of a gentleman #27

Danny Kelly: Rules of a gentleman #27: I always do this but on a recent occasion while waiting for my number to be called in the post office queue i stood up an offered my seat t...

Once again, Danny Kelly's blog is an interesting read and hits the nail on the head. I think so few people do this, or similar *gentlemanly things that when someone genuinely is being polite, people are taken aback and not sure how to react. I want to live in a world where saying good morning to a stranger doesn't mean getting a strange look in return!

(*No offence intended Ladies, I know you do too and I have witnessed women who do the same, I'm just following Danny's blog title The Rules of a Gentleman"!!)

Don't believe the hype... or do?

So it's that time again, it's new and exciting. Its Apple, its iPhone and its 5!
But I'm not quite ready to put grandma on eBay just yet... I'm currently sporting what I believed to be a rather natty Samsung Galaxy SII, yes I know the GS III is out and I'm clearly a Techno-dinosaur.

The thing is... I don't think I am, the GSII is great phone and was so new and exciting compared to my last few iPhones/Blackberrys that when I saw the GSIII, I was a little underwhelmed. And that's my issue with the iPhone 5, I haven't seen it yet, I don't even know what it can do yet, but I'm still skeptical.

I want it to be great, I really do. I would like to toss my GSII aside like the garnish left on your starter plate as the main course arrives. "To the man drawer with you, you are now an understudy phone!"

But I have the Porsche fear, will it really be different? A new supercharged engine, fancy leather seats with monogrammed trim, a carbon fibre dashboard and air freshener that doubles as a breath mint... but when you take out for a Sunday drive, you can't move for the traffic jam of every other Porsche on the road...

I read blogs and leaks and insider info on it, and i have no doubt it will be a beautiful piece of advanced technology. But does it deserve the hysteria that usually comes with an Apple launch?

I'm waiting for something different, unless the hype is right

Watch of the moment...

There's a lot of talk in the office today about watches, we had an invite to the release of a new Zenith model in Canary Wharf, but i have a real soft spot for Panerai at the moment. Something about the 'chunky yet neat' finish to these classic watches that works so well with a suit and can still be carried off comfortably with a casual outfit.

In particular the Luminor Chrono 44mm Steel and black, I think is a fantastic piece, chunkier than my Planet Ocean and with the extra width of the crown lock (which I previously wasn't sure about!) it just looks like a solid well engineered timepiece.

I think the Luminor Chrono has made the 'possible purchase' list, but I'd certainly like a closer look...

What to expect... or not

Well, let start with basics, it took me more time to choose the font for this little blog than it does for me to choose the unwitting drivel that is about to follow...

I'll be rambling about lots of things, style, watches, fitness, techie-geeky nonsense and anything else that catches my my short but stocky attention span.

Who am I? Full time 'Could have been', not a 'has-been' or even a 'wannabe' but going back to school reports, "Graham has the potential to do very well" followed by a brief "will succeed but lacks the attention span needed to excel"
